The Key to Freedom Lesson

Teaching our children what “freedom” is is quite a difficult task. They have grown up in a country where they do not have to question their liberties. They enjoy them fully and freely each and every day without interference. It’s quite difficult to try to explain to young minds what “could” be but isn’t. However, it is essential.

Our children need to recognize that the simple tasks they do are a gift. A gift that was fought for with the blood of brave Americans who came before them. Their freedom to speak and worship, their freedom to pursue their God-given talents, and their freedom to simply exist are all rights that were intentionally and carefully enshrined in the founding documents of this nation.

The Freedom Key seeks to help teach our children that freedom isn’t free. We discuss what freedom is and how America was founded on this great principle. There is a small lesson for the parent to read aloud and talk through with their child. Afterward, there is a fun craft to help serve as a reminder that America was founded in liberty. We hope you enjoy!
