The Littlest Statesmen is an All-American company dedicated to educating, enriching, and fostering a great love for our nation. TLS offers educational books, apparel, home goods, and more to spark a deep love for our nation in our littlest patriots.

TLS was founded on the idea that even the youngest Americans can learn about their nation’s history. We believe it is our duty as parents to educate our children about our nation’s history and enduring truths. We are of the belief that children rise to the occasion and have every ability to learn these stories — if they are offered the opportunity. We are humbled to offer such resources to your family.

Our first book, The Great George Washington, was released this past December. Written by Founder, Katie Broussard, and stunningly hand painted by Grace Vitale, this is the first of seven stories in our Founder’s Collection sharing the lives and contributions of our nation’s Founders. Educational as much as it is beautiful, this book is written for our littlest patriots (ages 3-7), hoping to ignite a great understanding and love for our country from the start.

Katie Broussard

Author, Founder of TLS

Katie Broussard is the proud founder of The Littlest Statesmen. A northern California native, Katie attended Hillsdale College, graduating in 2018 with honors with a double major in Spanish and Politics. Now a devoted wife and mother to three young children, Katie endeavors to cultivate a profound love and respect for her nation in her home.

The Littlest Statesmen was inspired by a simple question asked by her three-year-old daughter about the purpose behind celebrating the Fourth of July. She quickly realized that there are very few books, let alone educational materials, that are catered to teaching our youngest generation about our country. It’s as if we don’t think they are capable of understanding such great ideas and eternal concepts of faith, sacrifice, bravery, and liberty. If we are not teaching our children about our country, why should they grow up loving it? They have no reason to.

Katie quickly realized that if her daughters know the stories of Cinderella and Snow White, surely they can know the stories of George Washington and Betsy Ross. With that, The Littlest Statesmen was born.

Grace Vitale

Illustrator, The Great George Washington

Grace Vitale is the illustrator of the debut book, The Great George Washington, which is scheduled to release fall 2025. As an artist, Grace has learned how to observe the world around her and extract truth from it, training herself to not just look, but to see. There is a need for objectivity and structure in life, and education is no exception; through classical training, she has found joy in the practice of good craftsmanship, and has begun a lifetime of creating beautiful things. 

Grace works primarily in gouache illustration and oil painting. Whatever the medium, she aims to create work which captures the beauty of the subject before her.

Much beauty is overlooked in the world, missed by those who think it is rare and elusive. Beauty is here, now. Learning to look and to wonder are critical parts of finding joy and inspiration. Grace’s work is inspired by the fleeting moments which liven ordinary days. As a wife and mother, she feels an acute need to curate beauty within the home and teach her children to seek out and wonder at God's marvelous creation. It is important to capture the goodness found in the mundane, and she believes it necessary to do so—so she works.
