Easy Flag Lesson & Craft

Here’s a simple activity for toddlers that offers opportunities for a little mess, a little learning, and a lot of fun. My kiddos (ages 1.5, 3, and 5) created this craft during the week of July 4th and asked every day afterward to repeat it. We took a moment as we were painting to discuss the creation of the American flag and its development from a flag of 13 stars to 50. My five year old lapped it up, asking so many questions. (Peep a master copy of its creation in The Great George Washington!) It was a wonderful afternoon getting our hands messy and hearts full. Be sure to download the lesson linked below for a simple flag history lesson for your toddler & preschooler. Happy crafting!
